Week 2 - Timing and Movement
Movement within Animation is typically analyse down to 1/12th of the second. Within the UK we use 24 frames per second, otherwise the images within the film begin to stagger.
There are 12 principles of Animation:
1) Squash and Stretch
2) Timing and Motion
3) Anticipation
4) Staging
5) Follow through and overlapping action
6) Straight ahead and pose to pose
7)Slow in and out
8) Arcs
9) Exaggeration
10) Secondary Action
11) Appeal
12) Objects
Task 1 - Animate a Bouncing ball
Task 2 - Animate a deflating balloon
For the Second task I had to animate a deflating balloon. To help with this process I blew up a balloon several times and observed the motion path, whilst monitoring the timing of it's deflation and its change in shape. Using the same process as before with a lightbox I translated the information into my own drawing and used it to create 60 drawings for 12 drawings per second.
